Presentation: Tweet"Danske Bank Mobile Development Case Study"
In September 2010 Danske Bank released a Mobile Banking solution for Android and iPhone in Norway, Finland and Denmark, in two of the markets as a first mover. Traditionally Danske Bank has not been known for technological innovative solutions or being a first mover, so what happened?
In this presentation I will give an example of how innovation that start as grassroots can come to represent a guiding star for the transitional process of a very large organization.
The presentation will tell the story of the early innovation and the challenges that the team had to overcome to get the first official go-ahead. Including how to cope with legacy systems and architecture, deciding on which platforms to support, security on the mobile platform, choosing the services to provide to our customers, and lessons learned from developing mobile apps.
After initial release it became clear that the Mobile Banking solution was received beyond wildest expectations by the customers and it generated a huge amount of buzz. We will look into what Danske Bank have achieved by now by offering mobile banking to our customers and how we see the future on the mobile banking platform.
The presentation will investigate how the success of an innovative solution can be used as a lever for initiating customer driven innovation, stepping up cooperation with educational institutions, help reinstating pride among employees and changing both the public and self-picture to one of a innovative company.
